Maths Recovery is recognised worldwide as a highly effective intervention. Aimed at children in the early years of their education, it too places a strong emphasis on assessment. The results of these assessments inform a highly tailored teaching programme which targets areas such as number instruction, knowledge of number words and numerals, conceptional place value, mental and written computation. It helps children make sense of maths and become confident, successful mathematicians. The foundations of the programme are in research and extensive classroom practice. Lessons are based on the child's own starting point and continue by teaching developmentally the skills and strategies everyone needs to engage with the world of numbers and maths.
